WBS Television tops in Steadman report

The latest Steadman report has once again indicated that your number one station, WBS TV, is still leading amongst its competitors as the most loved and viewed. The independent research has for the past nine years ranked WBS as the most watched TV station, a position that the Station Management vows is not about to change.

The Steadman group based its results on a survey carried out in the regions of wide television coverage, especially the Central, East and West. WBS emerged the most watched of all television stations in Uganda. It also emerged the most watched within and outside Kampala.

Most preferred according to this report is the WBS news , followed by programs musical programs like late show, and Emiti Emitto - a program that targets children's interests. The report shows that 90% of all viewers prefer WBS to other stations.

WBS attributes this success to the attention paid to viewers' needs. Its proprietor Gordon Wavamunno says he's determined to ensure that WBS maintains this position in the coming years. Because of its programming, WBS has managed to attract and hold an audience comprising of both the young and old.

A number of plans are underway to see WBS cover the whole of Uganda. So far over three quarters of the country can watch WBS.

This station, which started in 1998, is one of the first private television stations in Uganda. The results of the report come at a time when WBS Television is about to celebrate ten years of quality programming, with educative informative and entertaining programs.
