POVERTY INDEX WORRIES ROTARIANS

More poverty alleviation programs are still required in Uganda to reduce on the poverty index that is still very high in the countryside, the governor rotary international district 9200 has observed. Governor Kanshik Manek is in Uganda to asses the performance of projects implemented by rotary clubs.

Addressing Rotarians of Rubaga rotary club at Pope Paul memorial centre, the district governor rotary international said that there is still a need to focus at initiating project proposals that address issues of soaring poverty.

He further urged the Rotarians to increase their efforts to help the health sector given the high malaria cases registered, adding that many families are spending a lot of money on treatment which would have been invested for development.

Richard Katimbo- Nganda, the production manager at Marianum press Ltd was honored for his committed service to work. He has worked at marianum press for 30 years and where he rose through the ranks to become production manager.
