Niger football team arrives

Niger National Football team has arrived in the country ahead of the weekend Nations Cup encounter against the Cranes, and is residing at Hotel International Muyenga.

FUFA will use the Cranes-Niger match as a fundraising match for the national team, to enable them make a trip to Benin for another qualifier.

While addressing sports scribes at Mengo, FUFA spokesman Rogers Mulindwa explained that the International soccer governing body, FIFA, has warned soccer fans against violence during international matches.

He says FIFA will be sending match assessors on each match, where the international soccer governing body will react according to match reports.

Meanwhile, tickets for the weekend match are already on sale at Caltex and Shell Petrol Stations and the public have been warned against buying tickets from individuals.

In another development, MTN Uganda has dressed the Cranes, while FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa has donated balls and nets to organizers of the Africa University Games due July 2008.
