Tayeebwa wins the Ferdsuit Mbarara golf Open

Ben Tayeebwa has emerged the overall winner of the Ferdsuit Mbarara golf Open after amassing 38 points in a one day tournament played at a 70 par course.

The Tournament that was played under a Stableford format saw George Olayo winning group A with 37 points beating Frank Ngabo on countback.

Speaking at a prize giving ceremony, State minister for Works and Ibanda South member of Parliament John Byabagambi urged golfers who originate from Mbarara to support the home club.

He commended the 48 golfers who turned up for the event for the competitive spirit exhibited on the course. Ben Tayeebwa amassed 35 points to lead group B beating Raj Das on countback, while Enock Byaruhanga won Group C with 37 points followed by Zahid Merali with 36 points.

Meanwhile USPA president Douglas Mazune has sent condolence messages to the family of the late Samuel Wosita who died in an accident after covering the event.
