King MSWATI tours Jinja

King Mswati III of Swaziland , who is on a state visit in Uganda has visited one of the countries tourist attractions, the Source of the Nile and Bujagali falls in Jinja. The source of the Nile was discovered by an English explorer, John Hannington Speke, in the 1860s. The King was with his entire entourage, including one of his wives, children and ministers.

King Mwati will be having a private dinner at State house Entebbe , before embarking on a day long tour of other establishments in the country including a visit to the anti-retro viral plant, Quality Chemicals and to the Kabaka of Buganda.

King Mswati was crowned in 1986 at the age of 18. He is Africa 's last absolute monarch, with power to choose the prime minister, other top government posts, top traditional posts and has 13 wives.

His main challenge is heading a land with one of the highest HIV prevalence rates. One of the steps that have been taken to curb the spread is to place all unmarried women under the chastity rite , which bans sexual relations for Swazis under 18 years of age.
