Inzikuru returns to track as Chiwa boasts

National Athletics coach Faustino Chiwa says his team is in fine form a head of the second edition of the Pan Africa Permit meet. As our reporter sought to find out local athletes will also be competing in the 10 th Akiibua memorial track and field meet at Namboole.

Chiwa who sounded confident says that most of his athletes have enough experience to challenge the visiting teams. The team is however rejuvenated by the return OF common wealth champion Dorcus Inzikuru.

Inspiration

Inzikuru's presence will inspire the likes of Emily Chebeti, Waisswa Lukungu, Samuel Egadu and Justine Bayiga among others.

We are much more prepared actually better than the first edition explains Coach Chiwa.

He decried fears after Kenya entered Sprinters saying that this will make the sprints more competitive.

Challenge

Chiwa however warned steeplechase queen Dorcus Inzikuru to expect difficulty time as she has been out of competition for over 15 months.

You see Inzikuru is just returning since giving birth to her son Emmanuel, so its going to be turf for her says Chiwa.

Much as she has been under a professional Italian coach Renato, she is just coming back into the race; she is going to start from scratch.

Inzikuru has been undergoing high altitude training Iten area in Kenya and she told WBS on phone that she is ready to revive her career.

Uganda faces challenge from Ethiopian, Kenyan and Sudanese runners. Among other countries include Nigeria , Rwanda , Tanzania , Burundi , and Libya .
