DP says arrested officials could be dead

The Democratic Party expresses fears that the three Buganda arrested officials could be dead. The three Buganda officials, Betty Namboze Bakileke who doubles as the Democratic Party Spokesperson, Medard Lubega and Charles Mayiga were arrested on Friday 18th 2008 by plain clothed security personnel.

The party president Ssebana Kizito says that the party lawyers have searched areas of Kyenjonjo, Ibanda Kagadi but to their surprise they are nowhere.

The MP Sebuliba Mutumba says that the three who were arrested are high profile people who could have been summoned other than being kidnapped by security personnel. He is demanding for an official statement from the president on the matter before Ugandans rise against his party.

The MP Buikwe South Dr Lulume Bayiga urged government to respect the Buganda kingdom or risk a revolution that can lead to the breakdown of the ruling government. The families and relatives of the three are worried about the safety of the three.
