Family of arrested Buganda Minister speaks out

The family of one of the arrested Kingdom officials is now speaking out. The distressed family of arrested Minister of Information in Buganda government, Peter Mayiga, is demanding for his whereabouts, two days after he was arrested.

His family now relies on reports that Mayiga, who was arrested in Kampala on Friday and taken to Kiira Road Police, has been transferred, to an unknown destination in Bundibugyo.

He was arrested over what the family calls tramped up charges including inciting violence and treason. The family is particularly bitter that Mayiga's sudden arrest was not in accordance with the law. One of his young sons has reportedly gone on a hunger strike, since his father's arrest.
